Grasping at straws here...

I know we have a few computer-minded people here and I am looking for some help. I have hit a google/cpan search dead end looking for a perl module to parse sentences in english. I would like to read an input and identify the number of nouns, adjectives, verbs etc. in that input. I found an excellent project which does everything I want (lingua::linkparser) but cannot make it on winxp (nmake 1.5). Have any of you had any experience in the past with this?

btw i usually write in perl, so that is most of what i have searched so far... but this seems like i may need to write 'real' code in c++...
